We're a perfect pear.
GLP-1 Nutrition Support
Whether you’ve been on a GLP-1 for a while or you’re just starting your journey, partnering with one of our expert dietitians can help bridge the nutritional gaps that cause many issues for individuals taking GLP-1 medication. Nausea, constipation, vomiting, hair loss, muscle loss, are common side effects of GLP-1 medications.
Nutrition counseling from a registered dietitian can help build healthy eating habits to work with your medication and ensure that weight loss is not a result of inadequate nutrition or muscle loss.
Studies show that over 40% of individuals who stop taking their GLP-1 medication regain the weight. Personalized, comprehensive nutrition guidance from a dietitian is essential for preventing this weight gain.
*Our dietitians can work with your existing prescribing provider, or our Nurse Practitioner can work with you to prescribe GLP-1 medication.
RMR Testing
Your Resting Metabolic Rate is an important piece of the puzzle for your personalized nutrition plan. Great for those who have big weight loss goals, are struggling with weight loss, or have metabolic disorders (thyroid issues, diabetes).
What is your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)?
Your RMR is your custom calorie number, the amount of calories you burn at rest. Knowing your RMR helps us create a personalized plan for weight loss, gain or maintenance.
What’s involved in the test?
You’ll come to our office for the test. Make sure you haven’t eaten, exercised, had coffee or alcohol, or smoked for four hours before your test. At the office you’ll sit and relax for a few minutes before we begin the test. Then, you’ll stay relaxed while breathing into an RMR mask for up to 10 minutes (it may take less time). After the test is complete you’ll schedule an appointment to meet with one of our dietitians to answer a few questions, learn your custom calorie number, and understand how to use that information to help reach your goals.
